Introduction

OrangeHRM is a free and open source human resources management platform with which you can perform and manage your HR duties from a simple and well-designed user interface. It takes advantage of the cloud in that you have all your HR management tools from any computer that has access to the internet. OrangeHRM is an extremely popular solution to HR management — today it has more than 1 million users and the company has partners in the US, Europe and Asia. Stack Harbor has made it easy for you to deploy your own installation of OrangeHRM on our Stacks and begin performing various HR duties in very little time.

Accessing Your Application

You’ll be able to verify that your Stack was built correctly once it has finished provisioning by visiting the IP address in your browser. You’ll see a login screen that looks like the image below — this is the gateway into the administrative interface of OrangeHRM.

For security, you will only be able to access your admin credentials by logging into your remote machine using SSH. If you don’t know how to use SSH, we’ve written a tutorial which will walk you through the process of remotely logging into your machine.

Once you’ve successfully logged into your machine using SSH, pay attention to the text that is displayed on your terminal emulator. This is called the message of the day (MOTD) and it contains a lot of sensitive information including your root MariaDB password and your admin credentials for your OrangeHRM installation. It is safe to take note of this information somewhere secure and remove the MOTD file by running rm -f /etc/motd. Use the first set of credentials in the MOTD corresponding to your admin OrangeHRM credentials and log in to the administrative interface on your IP address.
